Radio phones

Due to the remoteness of the area, there are very few landlines in the Belize valley. Much more common is the radio phone. These are not cell phones; they work like really awesome walkie talkies.

The thing about radio phones is that they are completely insecure. Anybody with one can (and usually will) hear all your conversations. Looters sometimes listen in on archaeologists in hopes of finding a dig with juicy findings. Due to this, many projects employ some sort of code for discussing any delicious artifacts.
