Althea Brinton

Biography

Althea (Ally) Brinton is a 40 year old ceramicist. Her specialization is Barton Ramie ceramics. During the summer preceding the novel, she has been working at a temple site in the Belize Valley near the Roaring Creek River.

She has been working in the Maya area for the last 20 years. She is married to David Brinton, an English economics professor. They have a son, Mark (17), who is the child of David's first marriage.

Powers

Ally has the power to create a wall of fire. It can be breached easily and has no abnormal characteristic, but still, it's a damn fire wall. She triggers this ability by raising her hands, palms together, over her head and then bringing them apart. The fire then rushes inward. As she gets more comfortable with the power, it becomes possible for her to use it to make shields or to encircle her position.
